Kate Bellamy's comment: "there is also only one P'urhepecha; the fact that there are two listed in Glottolog is a hangover from the original split that was claimed in Ethnologue, on the basis of very shaky data. There is indeed a large amount of dialect variation, more than there is listed in Glottolog, but none of these dialects possess tone".
